Last year Sarah and I set out to watch 31 scary movies in October. It was ambitious and a lot of fun. This year we've been a little more lax about it, but we've still committed to watch 13 scary movies before or shortly after Halloween. I figured I'd give an update on what we've watched so far now that we've seen a few (and Halloween is two days away).
Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children
Loved the movie. The book was more fulfilling and spookier, but this was a great adaptation.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
They were showing this in IMAX, so we took advantage of it.
Psycho
Masterpiece. It was also being shown in theaters—$5 a ticket, too.
Red Riding Hood
This was pretty much panned when it was released, but I like it anyway. Visually very appealing.
The Boy
Delightful and creepy.
The Forest
We thought about watching this in our tent on a camping trip, but decided against it and watched it at home later. Very glad we didn't watch it while camping.
Coming up there are a few on our lists that we want to get to, including a couple old monster movies (definitely B-movie fare), Stonehearst Asylum, Hocus Pocus, The Birds, Rear Window, and Signs, but I'd welcome any recommendations of stuff we have and haven't seen.
